"Mrs. Flora Matilda Caroline Powe, who died at the Spencer Hospital, Wynyard, after a long illness, was the wife of the late Arthur William Powe, of Ulverstone, who pre-deceased her 12 years ago. Since then Mrs. Powe lived with her daughter, Mrs. Len Williams, of Preolenna.

"Mrs. Powe was a daughter of the late John and Caroline Nibbs, of Smithton. She was born at Smithton and spent her childhood days there. After her marriage, she lived on the North-West Coast.

"She leaves a family of three daughters, Lily (Mrs. Applebee, of Brooklyn), Flora (Mrs. Williams, of Preolenna), Caroline (Mrs. Eastley, of Burnie), and one son Arthur (Spalford).

"Chief mourners were her daughters and son, three sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother (Mr. Thomas Nibbs, Smithton), sister (Mrs. W. Innis, Smithton), brothers-in-law (W. Innis, Smithton, and Jack Gale, Marrawah), and grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

"The funeral took place in the Wynyard Public Cemetery after a service in the Gospel Hall. Both the services at the church and graveside were conducted by Mr. Ira Morse, of Preolenna.

"Carriers were three sons-in-law, Messrs. Len Williams, Doug Applebee, Ken Eastley and Doug Byard.

"Pallbearers were Messrs. Jack Gale, Ron Bailey, Phill. Williams and Alf Williams.

"There were many beautiful wreaths." (Advocate 1 March 1956).
